Who we are, where are we coming from, where are we going?
The elementary school "Fran Krsto Frankopan" covers the whole teaching area of local communities of Donje Svetice, Ivanja Reka, and the part of Volovčica which borders upon Ivanićgradska street in Zagreb, Croatia.
The first school building, where Elementary school "Marko Orešković" started to work, was built in 1952 in the suburban area of Peščenica.
During the course of many many years, numerous teachers have bean teaching and bringing up generations of pupils. Today, many of them are esteemed and appreceated experts, well known in public. Some are writers, journalists and economists. For example: Elizabeta Gojan, Mladen Kušec, Zlatko Krilić, Nenad Porges, Tomislav Badurina, Željko Malnar and others.
The beginning of the new democratic period was the year of 1991. The name of the School has been changed into Elementary school "Fran Krsto Frankopan". The head-master M.Sc.Željko Burcar, prof. , (CW), as well as the teachers and the pupils, contribute with their work to the reputation of the School. Doing this they all respect and keep in memory the name of Fran Krsto Frankopan, the writer, the poet, the patriot and the great man and martyr in the history of Croatia.

M.Sc. Željko Burcar himself has done a lot on stimulating pupils to
keep the inside of their school building, as well as the surroundings, as beautiful as
possible. In 1997 the School opened its door to the world with their new informatics class
and working room. We are trying to create the modern Croatian school, which all the
teachers, our pupils and their parents could be proud of, with motto: Success
for all!
We thank all those who, with their effort, time and donations helped us to arrange and
equip the informatics classroom, to put the low relief of Fran Krsto Frankopan and to
arange the whole School.
One nation must never forget its history, neither all those who
built their lives and sacrifies into it. The verses of the poet and the patriot Fran Krsto
Frankopan remind us of it. "Forever lives
who dies honestly!"
